Arrived in the room and it was very hot inside, I turned on the A/C to bring the temperature down and then left the hotel for the evening. I returned many hours later and the temperature ha d not decreased, it actually felt warmer. I went to the hotel reception to inform a member and he told me e would speak to an engineer and get back to me, he didn't and i had to sleep with the window open onto the main square which was noisy and then had a poor sleep. i went to the reception in the morning and told them what had happened and they said that many had complained about this and an engineer would be fixing and it would take a few hours to cool down. We left the hotel and returned around14 hours later and our room was still very hot and the problem was not fixed. I told the reception staff again and the did move our room, but it had the same issue. As a platinum elite member i do not expect this service and is the worst hotel that i have stayed in and ruined a very special occasion.

We had a fantastic stay at the Crown Plaza Republique in Paris over February half term. The location is perfect for getting around Paris with a metro stop literally just outside the hotel. Traffic on the palza is busy but you can't hear anything in the rooms and there are lots of crossing points. The rooms were spotless and the bottle of water every day was really appreciated. Breakfast had a mix of continental, cereal and hot foods. We didn't eat dinner in the hotel as there are a selection of cafes, bistros and restaurants around the plaza and within 10 minutes walk. My only complain is the the door was a bit squeaky. The staff are very friendly (Andy and Joyce). The TV in the room has a selection of channels in all languages. A fantastic family holiday.

Four of us stayed here for a week-long trip to Paris in February. The hotel is excellent for families. We had two double beds in our room and while cozy, it was certainly enough space to sleep, wash up and relax when we were not out visiting Paris. The hotel staff were fantastic. Incredibly helpful: our package booking had the wrong dates attached but they sorted it out effortlessly; our son was ill one day and both housekeeping and the front desk went out of their way to ensure that he felt comfortable and offered access to a doctor; and the dining room staff for breakfast were welcoming, friendly and helpful (the buffet breakfast is extensive), as was the concierge for ordering taxis, indicating travel times etc. The location was good for Paris - it was about an hour to both EuroDisney and Versailles on the train and about 20 minutes to the Champs Elysee / Arc de Triomphe on the metro (Republique Metro station is just outside the door of the hotel). We were able to walk to Montmartre (about 40 mins), Georges Pompidou (15 mins), and Notre Dame (20 mins). Plenty of reasonable restaurants in the local area that were kid-friendly and offered typical bistro fare - pizzas, pasta, steak frites etc. Hotel rooms have a small refrigerator for food and there is a small store in the hotel for basics. Several convenience stores / boulangeries within a 5-minute walk of the hotel.

Very pleasantly surprised with our experience at this hotel after staying in another IHG hotel with work colleagues for the previous few days which was somewhat disappointing… I’d emailed in advance with a room request and for restaurant recommendations.. my request was accommodated and recommended restaurants excellent! The hotel is immaculately clean, staff are super polite and helpful (Alec from Reception particularly so). My children adored the breakfast! As an IHG member we even had a little treat left for us which kids appreciated. Proximity to the Metro with multiple lines made it an excellent base for exploring the city but much more reasonably priced than hotels a couple of stops closer to the centre for only a few more minutes. We’ll definitely return!

Amazing hotel in a great location which is 1 minute from the metro. The staff were so lovely and attentive(especially Joyce and Jasmine in the restaurant). This is one of the best hotels I’ve stayed in and it was the welcoming and helpful nature of the staff that made all the difference. Highly recommended.
